University of Sheffield Undergraduate Scholarships in UK

The University of Sheffield offers scholarship opportunities for international students with excellent academic results and potential.

The scholarship can be awarded in conjunction with any available scholarships from the Department or Faculty you will be studying in, provided you do not become a sponsored student.

If you are selected for a merit scholarship, subject to the eligibility and award criteria, you will be guaranteed the award in your first year of study. The scholarship is available in each of the following academic years of your course, subject to scoring 60% or above (wmg), and achieving a minimum of 120 credits in the previous academic year.

To be considered for the International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship, you must fulfil the following requirements:

• Your programme must be scheduled to commence at the University of Sheffield in autumn 2027.

• You must receive an offer for a course studied in full at the University of Sheffield. All undergraduate degree courses are eligible, with the exception of Medicine (A100/A101) and Dentistry (A200).

• For tuition fee purposes, you must be self-funded and eligible to pay the overseas tuition fee.

• You must not be a sponsored student*.

• You must enter a degree programme at the University of Sheffield in programme year 1 or year 2.

• For scholarship purposes, all MArch programmes are considered as postgraduate taught programmes and are not eligible for this or any other undergraduate scholarship.

• The University of Sheffield reserves the right to review and change scholarship provision.

There are various scholarships available for international undergraduate students at the University of Sheffield in 2027. These include;

• International Undergraduate Scholarship

Scholarships of £2,500 for each year (subject to a 60% average) of your undergraduate degree. The maximum value is £10,000 for four-year programmes.

• The English Schools Foundation Scholarship

Scholarship worth up to £17,500 for the duration of your course to overseas fee-paying students joining the University from the English Schools Foundation organisation in September 2027.

• The Oxbridge Tutorial College Scholarship 2027

Scholarship worth up to £17,500 for the duration of your course to overseas fee-paying students joining the University from the English Schools Foundation organisation in September 2027..

• GEMS Scholarship 2027

Scholarship worth up to £17,500 for the duration of your course to overseas fee-paying students joining the University from a GEMS institution in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar or Egypt in September 2027.

• The IDA Sheffield Academic Scholarship

Scholarships worth up to £17,500 for the duration of your course to overseas fee-paying students joining the University and Inspire Development Academy in September 2027.

• The NCUK Merit Scholarship

Scholarship worth up to £17,500 for the duration of your course to overseas fee-paying students joining the University from an NCUK International Foundation Year in September 2027.

• SABIS Merit Scholarship

Scholarship worth up to £17,500 for the duration of your course to overseas fee-paying students joining the University in September 2027 from a SABIS School in the UAE, Qatar, Oman and Bahrain.

• NCUK Sino-British College Scholarship

Scholarship worth up to £17,500 for the duration of your course to overseas fee-paying students joining the University from the NCUK Sino-British College in September 2027.

To apply for the University of Sheffield Undergraduate Scholarships, you should;

  apply for admission to commence your studies for an undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield in September 2027.

  choose the University of Sheffield as your firm or insurance choice before 4 pm (UK time) on Wednesday 2 June 2027.

  Some of the scholarships will be awarded automatically as a tuition fee discount to eligible students, with no additional application form required.

  Others may require that you fill out some forms or forward some documents to the program coordinators.

  If you are offered the scholarship, Sheffield will ask that you confirm acceptance of your scholarship and firm your offer by a fixed date.
